  • Marseille will set sail for the Olympic sailing events.

Nations Ready to Compete at the Olympics in France 2024

Hundreds of nations will send their best athletes to compete in Paris to celebrate human potential and unity, resulting in a melting pot of cultures, languages, and athletic prowess.

However, Russia and Belarus passport holders are not allowed to participate in these games. There are specific clauses imposed for whoever wishes to compete.

Economic Impact on the City

It is confirmed that 95% of venues already exist or are built temporarily for the Games 2024, allowing them to invest wisely.

It has been estimated that the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024 could generate up to €10.7 billion in economic benefits and more than 250,000 jobs in the Ile-de-France region.

Almost 10 million tickets were on sale for the Olympic Games, and roughly 3.4 million for the Paralympics, out of which 7 million tickets have already been sold for the Olympic Games. You can buy your tickets at the Paris 2024 Olympics website.

Olympics in France 2024 has 14 global partners, while there are around 70 sponsored partners.

The infrastructural developments and improvements in transportation systems will remain long after the games have ended, benefiting the city and its residents for years to come.

For example: The 2024 Olympics are set to take place within the existing urban transformation of the Grand Paris, initiated in 2008.

This project aims to establish new economic centers around Paris and develop an efficient and accessible public transportation network, enhancing connections between the city and its airports.

Environmental Impact on the City

Paris was awarded the Sustainable Transport Award 2023, which means that the 2024 Olympics in Paris will highlight not only sporting achievements but also a commitment to environmental sustainability.

Organisers of the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games have championed them as the most environmentally friendly in history.

Their goal is to significantly diminish carbon emissions, reducing them to less than 1.5 million tonnes of CO2.

This target seeks to cut emissions by more than half compared to the amounts emitted during the London 2012 and Rio 2016 games, which recorded 3.4 million and 3.6 million tonnes of CO2, respectively.

Impressively, this reduction target also surpasses the emissions of Tokyo 2021, which reached 1.9 million tonnes of CO2 despite the absence of spectators due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Paralympics: Olympics in France

The Paralympic Games is also set to take place in France in 2024. This event will inspire a new generation of athletes and change perceptions about disabilities and their capabilities.

Conclusion

The vision of the Olympics in France is not just a sporting event but an embodiment of unity, culture, and progress, promising an unforgettable experience for participants and spectators alike.
