What is the CRS?

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is an essential part of Canada’s Express Entry program. This points-based system evaluates and ranks immigration candidates based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language skills, and more. A higher CRS score increases your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency in Canada or enhancing your immigration status if you’re already in the country. Use our calculator to gain valuable insights into your profile, in just a few clicks.

Why Use Our CRS Calculator?

  1. Clarity: Understanding your CRS score is a vital first step in navigating Canada’s immigration system. Whether you’re planning to move to Canada or are already a resident, our calculator provides clear and precise insights into where you stand.
  2. Strategy: Your CRS score is more than just a number—it’s a roadmap. Use it to identify areas for improvement, optimize your profile, and boost your chances of receiving an ITA or upgrading your immigration status.
  3. Confidence: Knowing your score gives you the confidence to take the next steps toward achieving your Canadian dream. It helps you set realistic goals and plan effectively, no matter where you are in your journey.

How To Improve Your CRS Score?

You can always find ways to improve your CRS score so that you get the required points to secure an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the PR visa in the next Express Entry draw.

Here are expert tips to improve your CRS score:

  1. Boost Your Language Score – Scoring well on language tests like IELTS can make a big difference in your CRS score. For example, getting a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 9 can add up to 136 points. If you also take a French test, you could earn up to 74 extra points!
  2. Get a Provincial Nomination – Being nominated by a Canadian province through the Provincial Nominee Program can add 600 points to your profile. This can greatly improve your chances of getting invited to apply for permanent residency.
  3. Study in Canada – If you complete a degree or diploma in Canada, you can earn up to 30 additional CRS points.
  4. Secure a Job Offer – A valid job offer from a Canadian employer, approved by the Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), can give you up to 200 points.
  5. Build Canadian Work Experience – If you’re working in Canada, gaining more full-time work experience (up to three years) can add up to 180 points to your CRS score.
  6. Apply with Your Spouse – Including your spouse or common-law partner in your application can boost your score. Their language skills can add 20 points, and their education or Canadian work experience can add up to 20 more points, for a total of 40 points.
